The aluminum test block is used as a field check of type O durometers. It indicates if the durometer is mechanically sound before use. It is a combination of depth gauge and spring force gauge designed to provide consistent results in a wider temperature range than rubber or plastic blocks.

The durometer deadweight test stand is designed to provide the ASTM recommended forces.
