55800 is a highly sensitive refrigerant leak detector that uses a metal oxide gas sensor for the detection of CFCs, HCFCs, and HFCs refrigerants. This Intellasense leak detector has a powerful microprocessor that will automatically select the best operating conditions for the sensor to optimize its performance. Ideal for the service technician looking to locate a leak in a residential or commercial HVAC/R system as well as an automotive refrigeration system.

This Intellasense leak detector has a powerful microprocessor that will automatically select the best operating conditions for the sensor to optimize its performance. Ideal for the service technician looking to locate a leak in a residential or commercial HVAC/R system as well as an automotive refrigeration system.
This refrigerant leak detector can detect leaks that range from 0.5 oz./year on low sensitivity to 0.05 oz./year on the high sensitivity level. When locating a leak, the technician can easily switch from one level of sensitivity by pressing the H M L Sensitivity button on the keypad. The unit also has an F mode “Super Sensitive Function” that allows a greater sensitivity beyond the standard setting for locating small leaks with gasses such as R1234yf and R407C.
The leak detector’s keypad allows the technician to select the sensitivity level, to control the unit’s beep volume, a HOLD button, and a PEAK button. The HOLD button retains the visual indication of a leak when it is being used in hard-to-reach locations, and the PEAK button is helpful for identifying the largest leak when a system has multiple leaks.
The instrument’s LCD screen provides the technician with a variety of information including the readiness status of the unit, sensitivity level selected, error signals, and a visual indication of the concentration of refrigerant gases detected.
The refrigerant leak detector’s 16” probe has an intelligent tip design that senses the environmental conditions to eliminate possible false alarms.
The 55800 is operated by 2 “D” batteries with a low battery indicator on the LCD screen. The sensor has a life expectancy of about 2000 hours and the detector comes with a leak test vial to test that the leak detector is working properly.
