The Aurora leak detector can accurately locate leaks as small as 0.10 oz. /year for all refrigerants. The 3 levels of sensitivity can easily be adjusted using the L/M/H button on the keypad when trying to pinpoint a leak. When a leak is located, the unit will emit both a visual and a mutable audible alert.
The instrument has an eight-segmented LED display to indicate the level of refrigerant concentration. The refrigerant detector will automatically recalibrate in highly contaminated areas to help locate a leak. Once the instrument has indicated a leak, move the leak detector away from the leak to let the sensor recalibrate, and then move the probe back to confirm the leaks location.
The keypad has a PEAK button that will both store the highest change in refrigerant concentration as well as help detect the tiniest of leaks. By pressing the PEAK button four times, you will have turned on the contaminate mode and the sensor will be able to locate even the smallest leaks in refrigerated contaminated areas.
The instrument’s infrared sensor will not be triggered by oil or moisture so a technician will not have to worry about false alarms.
The LD-6000IR is operated by an 8-hour lithium-ion battery and has a low battery LED indicator on the keypad. It also has a magnetic hanger that is useful to get the leak detector out of the way when working on a system, but still in view so it won't be left behind at the end of the service call.
