The dowel pins are of straight-grained hardwood with chamfered ends for easy installation. They are also grooved to accommodate excess glue during insertion. The fluted dowel pins swell on contact with water-based glue for an extra-tight fit. The doweling kit works with General Tools 840 and 841 doweling jigs.
