The 210 works by passing a specific current through the subject being tested and then measuring the corresponding voltage drop across it. Based on this current and voltage information, the resistance of the subject is electronically calculated and displayed on the microhm meter. To make accurate measurements, separate leads and clips are used for the current and voltage measurements, utilizing the standard four-terminal Kelvin connections. The device includes a self-calibrating feature, allowing users to conveniently check the overall calibration without needing external calibration references. Additionally, it has an auxiliary 100 ampere AC output for demagnetizing current transformers, which may need to be tested in situations where they cannot be removed from the test path, or for conducting low-level injection testing.
