This durometer is designed to measure ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) D2240 Type D hardness. These durometers can be used either with a test stand or hand-held.

Features

Special cam permits a scale deflection of 100 points when the indenter is displaced exactly 0.100 inch
Dial scale is extended over 240 circular degrees to provide reading accuracy to within ±1 point
Resettable ancillary hand records the peak reading
Threaded mounting knob permits permanent test stand emplacement
"D" Scale Durometer is designed for hard plastics - polystyrenes, vinyls, Formica, Plexiglas - hard rubbers and phenolic molded materials

Test Block Features

Made from aircraft grade aluminum
Has a steel leaf spring to give a reading within ±1 of it's value
