Platinum Tools TXG200-FO Offers

The Platinum Tools NetXpert XG2 (TXG200-FO) is a 10 G certifier for Fiber Optic Systems that can quickly and easily test and document whether a cable link is suitable for operation up to 10 Gigabit Ethernet following IEEE 802.3. The NetXpert XG2 10G cable speed certifier uses the advanced Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT), pushing real data packets over the cable and measuring the results. Unlike many other forms of testing, bit error rate measures the full end-to-end performance of a system including, the transmitter, receiver, and the medium between the two.

The NetXpert XG2 is an Ethernet speed certifier of fiber optic systems up to 10Gb. The main parameter to qualify fiber optic cables is Bit Error Rate Testing (BERT). BERT is a testing method where a known sequence of bits is sent through a communication channel, and the received bits are compared against the transmitted bits to determine what percentage of data is communicated correctly. The XG2 Ethernet speed certifier also has additional informative parameters for fiber systems to warn users of possible errors but do not impact the qualification results.

The LiveLight feature on the XG2 fiber optic certifier is an extremely powerful troubleshooting tool measuring attenuation in a fiber optic cable. Rather than just displaying a value for the light loss, LiveLight uses the color screen on the XG2 to show a real-time, continuous trend plot for the light loss. Since many field problems are attributed to connectors, LiveLight™ gives you the ability to move the connector or cable and watch the LiveLight™ trend, like a strip chart recorder, in real-time, which is a powerful tool when troubleshooting an intermittent fault. The test data results can be saved as a CVS report.

Features

  • Cable qualification to IEEE standards
  • TDR and fiber cable length measurement
  • PoE testing up to 90W (PoE++)
  • The NetXpert XG2’s exclusive LiveLight feature displays fiber signal performance in real time to evaluate cable routing
  • Loss and Length measurement displays cable length and transmission loss over that distance
  • Test for PoE up to 90W, and displays load, current, and voltage, as well as detecting PoE class
  • Custom cable naming is standard, and will automatically increment the cable number
  • Display a complete network map in graphical or list view
  • Detects Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP) or Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) and displays information from the switch.
  • Built-in Wi-Fi detects all networks in range and displays actual signal strength at its location
  • Test data cabling for IEEE 802.3 compliance at data rates up to 10 Gb/s (BERT)(Copper with one main unit and active remote.  Fiber with two main units.)
  • Advanced tone generation over a single pair or all pairs with multiple tone choices for fast, easy cable tracing with a probe.
  • Ping and URL or IP for connectivity testing and perform up to six ping tests simultaneously on the network or internet.
  • TDR cable length measurement provides highly accurate results, including distance to shorts
  • Basic pass/fail cable status indicates whether the cable complies with IEEE specifications
  • The skew test confirms signal delay between the pairs is within acceptable limits (<20 ns)
  • SNR Margin confirms that noise and crosstalk are within acceptable limits
  • The bold speed test pass/fail icon makes it easy to quickly verify the expected test results
  • Bit Error Rate Test (BERT) displays transmission errors which rob connections of speed
  • Ethernet speed certification to 1/2.5/5/10G
  • Cable qualification to 1/2.5/5/10G
  • Pass/fail fiber cable test results
  • Fiber cable length measurement
  • Fiber loss measurement
  • Livelight active transmission testing
  • Optional microscope image testing
  • Works with copper, fiber, or WiFi
  • Ping to a specific IP or URL address
  • Link light to identify location on a switch
  • Verifies DHCP connectivity and DNS
  • Discovers CDP and LLDP Protocols
  • Network Mapping and Trace route
  • VLAN Discovery

Applications

  • Professional testing and troubleshooting companiesInstallation of data cabling for:
  • Commercial building
  • LAN infrastructure
  • Data centers
  • Building automation
  • Industrial Ethernet
